: Has anyone read "Confederates In The Attic"?
: Is this book a true story or a novel?
: Is it worth reading?

: Thanks!

I have read the book. It is non fiction and is definitely not a novel! It traces the steps taken by the author to understand why the appeal for the "Lost Cause" remains so strong so many years after the CW. He covers reenacting and reenactors, using The Southern Guard as an example. One of the members of that unit told me that one of the SG members portrayed in the book is no longer involved with the hobby. At worst, the book is a little strange; at best, it is worth a few good laughs with an attempt to understand those who have taken up CW reenacting.
