We are always working on our impressions, changing and adding new things. I took the name of Miss Jane Boswell Moore, a Christian Commission nurse who also distributed literature and tracts. I liked the idea that the CC let women be officers and that they had libraries. (I am a librarian in "real life".) The real Miss Moore showed spunk and was brave in rescuing soldiers under fire. However, I am simplifying my firper impression. I have since found the name of a woman who actually was a CC librarian. So I have changed my impression to the name of Euphemia (The records list her first initial only. So I chose Euphemia which was a Victorian name and I also think the name is funny :-)) Hardenbrook out of St. Louis. I will drop the nursing duties and concentrate on building up a library and ministering to the soldiers in the hospital, but as a visitor who reads and writes letters for them. However, on the forums and chatroom I will still use the name of Miss Moore. |
