Message Detail:
This is my most embarressing moment. It shows how smart the spectators are or how bad my luck is.

For comic relief, I made up a fiance for Miss Moore. I named him Longfellow Smithers. I display his picture in my fly.

I bought a repro frame. Until I could buy a CVD, I decided to cut a picture from a CW coffeetable book. I needed the right size picture of a man in civilian clothes. Salmon P. Chase's picture fit the bill. And I figured what spectator would recognize the Secretary of the Treasury.

With my dumb luck, a great, great granddaughter of Chase's attended the event. She asked me why I was telling people that Chase was my fiance. I was embarassed to have been caught in a white lie. So, never underestimate the spectators' intelligence or your own luck. :-)
