Subject: Special reenacting Moment

Message Detail:
I have read the first battle moments of WuzReb, the moments fo Miss Moore, JD, and JR. Thank you to all of you. It has been wonderful to read others thoughts. I don't normally like to share things like this. However I would like to share what has probably been the most authentic experience that I have ever had in my five years of reenacting.

It was a drizzly, cool day. We were ordered out on the right flank of the infantry. The cannons were in back of us firing. The infantry next to us was starting to fall back. What happened next is what people truly think of war as. Another unit of infantry was coming up. They came up through the smoke and fog. Then we heard the haunting sound of the fifes, the banging of the drums, and the blast from the cannon. Then they moved up right next to us. As the fifers fifed, and the drummers drummed the men moved up and then started taking hits. It was the most authentic moment that I have ever seen or heard in my five years of reenacting.

Carpe Diem
