Yes, trying to more first person is what our unit is striving for. We actually do real first aid and pass ice water to the military. So, its hard to explain to the spectators that we don't cut arms and legs off. We try to portray field nurses. Sometimes the men visit our tent on their free time then we end up entertaining rather than educating. Any thoughts?

This is THE Civil War medical museum located in Fredrick Virginia outstanding site for you they have a bookstore! they also have research and study section check it out!

Also have found the site belonging to the Office of Military Medical History ! this is operated by the United States Army's Medical Command this is the Medical Command's historian's office....... some really good material on the Civil War's Medical efforts good references on here.............
