Message Detail:
From a reenactor's standpoint.....watch the battle and enjoy it. Think about our ancestors who fought and the torture and horror they went through in such a battle. Admire their bravery...appreciate what the reenactors do. And most of all...don't boo the Yankees or the Confederates. It is not a ball game: There is no victor when over 600,000 men die. Just a reminder of the valor and sacrifice men gave to stand up for their beliefs, for their families, for their homeland, for their country, and for their way of life.

Ask questions in camp. Try hardtack. Talk to the reenactors--they won;t bite you. Get all you can out of the experience. Then go home and start reading a good Civil War book...learn,learn,learn.

And most importantly-----have fun!
