I agree with you to a certain extent there, Ironclad, but I often wonder one thing...Since when having a photo taken, the Victorian tradition was to wear your finest and look your best,and since wearing glasses was considered a weakness, and a soldier off to war wanted to show no weakness, that perhaps more men wore glasses than we see because they took their glasses off for the photos. Just a thought, but I guess there is no real way to prove anything.
