Friends,

I leave for Pennsylvania tomorrow and will be out of touch. For those coming on my tour on Saturday, the weather is supposed to be lovely. Wear your good hiking shoes and be prepared to cover some rough ground. I have a special treat prepared for you, and you will also get to meet some real, authentic cavalrymen, members of the First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry, a mechanized cavalry recon unit that's part of the 28th Infantry Division (Pennsylvania National Guard), which traces its history back to 1775. The Troop has remained in constant service since its formation as George Washington's personal bodyguard, and 13 of its members served as officers in the 6th Pennsylvania Cavalry.

In any event, those who are joining my tour need to be prepared to cover rough ground and some steep hills. This tour is NOT for the faint of heart. There is quite a bit of walking involved, so be prepared.

Until Saturday at 3:30......

Eric
