Subject: Day One.....

Message Detail:
I've been listening to Shelby Foote's "Stars in Their Courses" on tape and have been thinking...If Longstreet's I Corps had been the one who arrived first in Gettysburg on July 1, what would have happened? Would he have allowed them to go into the town? Done some reconitoring to determine the extent of Federal troop positions on Seminary and McPherson's ridges? How would he have reacted to the situation that Heth and Hill found on Day One? I'm curious to hear what you all have to say.
