![]() Subject: RE: Monuments to Sheridan |
Lin,
That's a good one, too. Thanks. I will add it to the list. Eric How about a town named after him? Sheridan, Oregon - Not sure if they have a statue there or not, will ask one of our members who lives there. They do have their annual "Sheridan Days Parade" where my cavalry unit was asked to participate including $300 stipend which they quickly recinded when they found out we wore gray ;-) CG Found two more...one in Chicago and the other in Albany, NY. This guy casts a huge shadow over American history. Eric Friends, I am trying to figure how many large monuments there are to Phil Sheridan around the country. I know of four: Sheridan Square in Greenwich Village, Sheridan Circle on Massachusetts Avenue, on Embassy Row in Washington, D.C., his hometown of Somerset, Ohio, and the one in front of the Ohio State House here in Columbus. Does anyone else know of any others?
Eric I've seen the one in Somerset, but don't know of any others besides what you've listed. I'll search some resources though. |
